Of all the possible futures I have thought of when it comes to that of Virtual Reality Porn, the most disconcerting one contains the possibility that Virtual Reality will flop, again.
Now it’s doubtful in my mind that such a thing would happen, but we really don’t have any guarantees now do we? Not necessarily, it’s all still a gamble
It’s hard for developers to put everything they got into producing wonderful content for something they can’t guarantee will see the light, but with big names like Sony now jumping on the wagon it has to succeed right? How does somebody feel motivated to make something amazing when there are so few willing to sign the contract because they are afraid to associate themselves with something?

Perhaps such obstacles are a blessing in disguise, motivating those who would otherwise flounder at the feet of those who would seek to hold them down, to creating bigger and better things. Freed from the shackles that numb creativity in favor of the almighty dollar and a bigger dick, the small get bigger and the big guys move over.
I have never seen a better opportunity for the underdog to rise to the top than I have with this new Virtual Reality craze. Oculus has provided us all with something special indeed.
Let the little guys rev their engines, and produce something that will send the world spinning!
Provided they are savvy enough to see through the short and curlies of course.

Now what about the future of Virtual Reality Pornography independent of mainstream VR? Surely, if there are people are out there creating such sex-oriented niche products as some of the crazy stuff companies like Kanojo toys have to offer, there will always be those adventurous (and wealthy) few who are willing to spend a couple hundred dollars just to enjoy a new method of masturbatory pleasure (hey, it’s cheaper than a girlfriend and a vstroker won’t tell you what to do!). Virtual Reality definitely provides that, and a little bit more; so I am sure that whatever the outcome, whether VR goes mainstream or whether it remains a niche product aimed at enthusiasts, there will always be a place for it in the grand scheme of porn.

It’s interesting isn’t it? I have a tendency to look toward such quandaries with a sort of detached (but engaged) curiosity, always interested in the next maneuver that humanity will take. Will people see the potential in what is right in front of them, in the fine fellow who is shaking their hand? Or perhaps even more importantly, will they be smart enough to dot the i’s and cross the t’s where it’s necessary, avoiding potential trouble down the road? It wouldn’t be the first time we’ve seen a Virtual Reality porn endeavor crash and burn; I wonder how silly the guy who was funding “Sinful Robot” felt after he realized that the world seems to be ready for VR after all?

Regardless of what I think, you can guarantee that there will be a fair lot of those left sorry for not doing the right thing when they had the chance, and an equally fair share of those happy folks who did;
But either way we shall rejoice because we’re almost guaranteed to see VR porn stick around!

  1. I agree. There is way too much money to be made for the developers that make it happen. Once one developer is even moderately successful, there will be no turning back. All the big names in porn will have to follow suit or they will die a slow death. Any word on any new oculus rift porn developers? Or even oculus rift porn sites in addition to oculus real porn?

  2. Yes, it’s called eJaculator and it’s being developed now.

    An IndieGoGo campaign is launching soon and they’re giving people a chance to win 1 of 250 units.
