It’s the future, no doubt about it.  Automated vehicles, 3d printed body parts (that sounds like it could have some rather naughty but weird implications in the future) and Virtual Reality are all likely here to stay.  Luckily for us, automobiles and medicine are far from the only things to undergo big leaps in evolution; and porn is no exception. So just how did it all start?  Though we haven’t found any evidence of neanderthals carving naughty pictures in stone whilst hiding from Saber-tooth tigers in the torchlight of a cave yet, pornography does date back a very long time indeed, but that shouldn’t come as a surprise; We are all human after all, and have been for a little while; and being a human comes with certain needs. So without further ado, I give to you a brief look at the history of VR Porn (forgive me if I miss a few; this list is meant to be entertaining not exhaustive):

30,000 to 40,000 BC: The Venus of Hohle Fels/Schelklingen

This attractive relic was found in 2008 in Schelkingen, Germany
Though she’s a little on the thick & juicy side, her shapely body is a fitting precursor to the porn of today.

What a hottie!

75 AD: Goat sex from Herculaneum

Excavated sometime in the mid 1700’s this statue of Pan having sex with a Goat dates back to earlier than 75 AD.  Just think, soon we will be able to recreate such wondrous experiences in virtual reality!   (Gads!)

Ok, we started with what might be some of the earliest examples of porn to date, but from here in we’ll keep it relatively modern.
Fast forwards many thousands of years to the late 1700’s and we have:

Late 1700’s: Harris’s List of Covent Garden Ladies

An somewhat raunchy annual pocketguide to prostitutes working in Georgian London.
Each edition provided the physical descriptions and sexual repertoire of close to 200
prostitutes working in the Covent Garden area.
Sexy stuff indeed!

1800’s: Édouard Manet’s Olympia

A naked portrait of a prostitute being portrayed by Victorine Meurent.

Although it doesn’t look like much by today’s standards, the image was considered pornographic because it was just a picture of a naked woman and not an idealization of a goddess.
For a softcore pic from the 1800’s it’s actually not too bad!

Late 1800’s: Coucher de la Mariée

Known for being the worlds first softcore film, this forerunner to the future of smut was 7 minutes long and featured a striptease and a bath scene.
Risque!

1953: Playboy

In 1953 our friend Hugh Hefner published the first issue of playboy.
Featuring the stunner Marilyn Monroe, the magazine sold more than 50,000 copies and paved the way for more hardcore magazines like Hustler and Penthouse being stuffed between the mattresses of teenage boys beds worldwide, and was responsible for the discovery of countless crusty socks by appalled mothers everywhere!

1987: Leisure Suit Larry

Who could forget this one?  A graphical adventure game series created by Al Lowe seeing it’s debut with land of the lounge lizards in 1987, Larry Laffer was a male virgin desperate to get laid who travels to the city of Lost Wages for some bawdy fun.
We owe a lot to Al Lowe and Larry Laffer!

2003 – Present: Second Life

Even before this massively multiplayer title got Oculus Rift support, it contributed to the evolution of VR Porn.  Being one of the first such experiences allowing players the freedom to create whatever they want, it set the precedence for the future of online gaming.
Adding VR support to the mix just seems like a natural step.

2012 – Present: 3DXChat

What can I say?  This game is amazing.  With constant updates, beautiful graphics and Oculus Rift and VStroker support it’s a tough trick to beat and VR Porn game developers will have to meet or beat it’s dedication to the genre or sit in it’s shadow, because it is top tier VR Porn entertainment for sure!

2014: OculusRealPorn.com

OculusRealPorn
With 3d Videos that are Oculus Rift compatible (using VRPlayer) and beautiful models, OculusRealPorn.com is setting the stage for the future of VR Porn.
While they do still have a few kinks to work out, I believe they will continue to evolve as the niche expands (hopefully adding teledildonic support), and insofar as VR Porn movies go, they are at the top of the pack.
We can’t deny that these kind of movies are the beginning of a bright future.

So there you have it, a quick look at the evolution of porn, all the way from ass-tastic carvings dating back to Cro-Magnon man and the upper Paleolithic, to the year 2014 and teledildonic enabled Virtual Reality games.
